The Great Lakes Freight and Mining Co. is a Posse of the National Congress of Old West Shootists (NCOWS). The Great Lakes Freight and Mining Co. also has been designated as a Living Museum by the State of Indiana.
We hold monthly Western Action Shoots on the First Saturday of each month at Indian Trails Sporting Clays, 7490 S. Indian Trail Road, Modoc, IN. We shoot using the rules established by National Congress of Old West Shootists. Registration begins at 9:00 AM, and following a brief Safety Meeting, shooting begins at 10:00AM. The Great Lakes Freight & Mining Co. also staged a monthly train robbery reenactments on the Carthage-Knightstown-Shirley Railroad. The reenactments took place on the third Sunday of each month from May through September until the CKS ceased operations at the end of August 2013. Reenactors must be members of GLFMC or the National Congress of Old West Shootists (NCOWS) to participate. More about our Reenactments.
